The orange circle beside the notification bell this afternoon had a surprise ready for me. I clicked on it and was stunned to find the followers rank had now moved up to triple digits. Thank you so much to each and every lovely soul who found my blog attractive and felt inclined to keep up with my journey! ❤ 🙂
This is actually my second blog in WordPress. The previous one, named just Deepika Kumaaraguru with the lack of a tagline, existed from March 2015 and met its end in September 2015, owing to the fact I found it distracting and kept diverting my attention from my books. But it gifted me my first ever blogging friends, people who I wouldn’t have met hadn’t it been for WordPress. Thanks to my dearest Bala, who kicked my ass into the blogging world (I’m still grateful you did that, darling), I came across them. Here they are, in the order we met: Kavya Janani, Nimitha Shajahan, Srichandra ‘Sri’ Di, Tejas Jani, and Neerja Di.
Even after I got out of blogging, I never resisted the urge to read their posts and absolutely loved visiting their pages and commenting on every post I enjoyed of them, making sure I kept in touch. This was also the time I got close to Neerja Di, whom I had met only a couple of weeks before exiting, and commenting on her blog aside, we exchanged regular, treasured emails that strengthened the bond we have.
As New Year came around, a desire to blog made a re-birth and after making sure I’ll be able to prioritise myself and keep a schedule and plan of things, the page you’re currently on, Discover Deepika, fashioned itself and as my friends welcomed me back warmly, I gained new friends as well 🙂 Jennifer (‘Jen’, as I affectionately address her), Darshith, Jackie, Pratyusha, Sneha and Ankita – awesome people with awesome blogs.
My closest cousin sister, Akila, rocks my world every time she finds a fresh post on my blog and leaves an overwhelming comment to bring a huge smile to my face ❤ And right after her entry, a special and dearest bestie of mine from school, Priya Darshni, made me jump up and down in joy as she finally joined WordPress, her talented, profound writing finally on display to the world ❤
Every single person I mentioned here in turn encourage me and make this platform an inspiring, colourful, amicable, friendly and entertaining one. There are other wonderful blogs I have an affinity for as well, so whenever I’m free, I love going through my reader feeder to see what new thoughts have been brought in for the day 🙂
Thank you so much to the hundred followers who made my day today, I never thought I’d attain that number this soon 😀 You’re the best!
